What is a WEG?

German condominium ownership in one paragraph

A Wohnungseigentümergemeinschaft (WEG) is the legal form for German condominium ownership: every apartment owner is automatically a member of the association that owns the building's common areas. WEGs are governed by the German WEG-Gesetz and require an annual general meeting, an economic plan (Wirtschaftsplan), an annual statement (Jahresabrechnung) and a written resolution archive (Beschlusssammlung). Many WEGs in self-administration choose to administer themselves rather than hiring a professional property manager. They range from two-unit buildings to mid-sized communities and occasionally include larger ones with a committed board. dooyah house gives that work a shared place.

You can add invoices, contracts and minutes there. In Pro, AI recognition reads invoice number, amount and date, and you confirm the booking.

Bank statement import (Pro)

Where do I enter the opening balance?

You enter it on the account itself: open the account under Banking, click “Edit” and fill in “Balance on reference date” and “Reference date”. Take the amount from your bank statement.

It is still missing on the savings account you opened in 2026, which is why its balance shows as “provisional”. Tip: if you import a CAMT or MT940 statement that contains a balance, dooyah offers to take it over directly.

WEG main data is stored on servers in Germany. Purpose-bound AI features run through contractually bound processors in an EU data zone. Operated by FloriCore Software UG (haftungsbeschränkt) in Eggolsheim.

🔒 Encrypted & isolated

TLS 1.2/1.3 in transit, AES-256-CBC for sensitive fields. Strict separation of data between WEGs on the database level, backed by foreign-key constraints. Append-only audit log.

🪪 Passkey login

Login with a passkey (FIDO2/WebAuthn) or a one-time code by email, so no password has to be typed. Administrators must use two-factor authentication.

📜 Data processing agreement

Data processing agreement (AVV) per Art. 28 GDPR available on request. The sub-processor categories are public, and the site uses neither Google Analytics nor a tracking network.
