What "free forever" actually means here

The free plan is the real product, not a teaser. It includes the parts that cover the operational basics for one WEG up to 10 units:

• 1 WEG, up to 10 residential units.
• Master data: owners, units, ownership shares, distribution keys, voting weights.
• Manual booking journal: enter incoming/outgoing payments per WEG, owner and cost type.
• Owner portal: read-only access for each owner to their statements and the WEG documents.
• Document storage: drop in invoices, contracts, minutes.
• Trial bank import: CSV/MT940/CAMT import for a limited number of transactions, so you can verify the workflow before upgrading.
• Resolution archive (Beschlusssammlung): sequential numbering, full text, exportable.
• No credit card to sign up. No expiry date. No auto-conversion to a paid plan.

What requires the Pro plan

The features that genuinely cost us to operate (bank import at scale, AI matching, OCR for invoices, the full annual statement engine) are on the Pro plan at 14,90 €/month per WEG (flat rate, up to 30 units) incl. 19% VAT.

• Full bank import (CSV / MT940 / CAMT.052/053) with no transaction cap.
• AI auto-matching of new transactions to owners, mandates and bookings.
• OCR for invoices and contracts (one-click booking from a PDF).
• Economic plan (Wirtschaftsplan) and annual statement (Jahresabrechnung) with PDF/email-ready output.
• Reports, exports, full audit log.
• Email + chat support.

Why the free plan exists at all

dooyah house was built by a self-administering WEG board member frustrated with software that either cost more than the WEG's actual administration costs or was too narrow to be useful. The free plan is a deliberate decision: a WEG that wants to retire Excel shouldn't have to commit money before knowing if the workflow works for them. If you upgrade to Pro later, great (Pro covers up to 30 units per WEG; larger WEGs in self-administration on request). If you don't, you still get a real database and a real audit log instead of a spreadsheet.

What the free plan is NOT

• Not a 14-day trial — there is no expiry.
• Not a stripped-down demo — it covers actual operational use for one WEG up to 10 units.
• Not "free if you give us your bank credentials" — we don't ask for any.
• Not an upsell wall — the only locked features are the ones that genuinely cost compute (bank import at scale, AI, OCR).

Privacy and infrastructure (free plan included)

• WEG main data on Microsoft Azure servers in Germany (region Bavaria). Same hosting as the Pro plan.
• TLS 1.3, AES-256-CBC for sensitive fields, multi-WEG database isolation.
• Passkey login (FIDO2/WebAuthn) by default, optional TOTP-2FA.
• GDPR-compliant. Sub-processor list public.
• No Google Analytics, no tracking network. Cookieless self-hosted analytics.
